#LivingTheDream

These days have been a whirlwind, an overload of experiences.

We went to Ikea and wandered around picking and choosing furniture. It's like a twilight zone. You emerge 4 hours later, much poorer, and with substantially more furniture than you planned. Apparently, this is a very typical American experience? I then pumped gas at Costco for the first time #livingthedream, and we hit up a real Italian restaurant in Burbank, Pinocchio's, for lunch. You can smell the goodness down the street (no exaggeration). And just in case any of you thought I was taking myself too seriously: TOTES AMAZEBALLS! We spent the evening bonding over Ikea assemblage, which is like playing with grown up lego, and, just by the way, we're damn good at it.

On Thursday, R took me to UCLA on the shuttle. The shuttle stop is 100m from our apartment. Okay, fine, maybe 200. We hopped off at the law school and proceeded to wander across the campus. The grounds are exquisite. Grand, red brick buildings, arches, ridiculously big windows, old fig trees, expansive lawns. It's surreal. I cannot believe I am here, and studying at this stupidly gorgeous place. Don't believe me? Have a look-see:

This evening, we headed seawards to Santa Monica for the sunset. Words won't do it justice, so I've included pictures (below), but my word bubble: so many people, soft light, ocean breeze, sinking sun, buskers every few meters, Forrest Gump references, ferris wheel, balloons, people walking their dogs, music, ice cream, waves, gulls. Happy. A is happy.
